Miles for Mags -- Maureen Hussey |
||
Thank you for visiting our Cupid's Undie Run fundraising page!
Kevin and I will be stripping to our skivvies (we may leave a bit more than that on) and running around in the frigid temps this February, all in an effort to raise funds so kids like our daughter Maggie can grow up happy and healthy. Aunt Katie and Uncle Jake will be joining in on the fun, too!
Maggie, like many six-year-olds, loves all things Disney and her Panda Bear from her Nonna who goes to all of her doctors appointments... including her many trips to the "Big Bear Hospital" in Washington, DC where Maggie sees many wonderful specialists and undergoes regular MRI's.
Maggie was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis (NF) at five years old and lives with an optic glioma behind her eye, seizure disorder, and the learning disabilities and ADHD that often accompany NF. Despite all this she is a sweet, loving child and the center of our family.
We are running in our undies in the freezing cold because we are in a race to cure NF. We believe we can do it! And for the millions of NF families around the world, we sincerely thank you for your help.
Whether it be $5 or $500, every last donation to the Children's Tumor Foundation is appreciated, tax-deductible and goes a long way.
Our family continues to marvel at the love and support Maggie receives from so many of our family and friends, near and far. We love you all and know that Maggie is a VERY lucky girl to have you out there praying for her.
The Children's Tumor Foundation is the world's largest non-government organization dedicated to ending Neurofibromatosis (NF) through research. NF is a genetic disorder, usually manifesting during adolescence, that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, causing blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and severe chronic pain. Currently, there is no cure for NF and there are frighteningly few treatment options.
