Thank you for visiting my Cupid's Undie Run fundraising page!
It's almost February again which means I will soon be stripping down and running around Denver in the frigid temps, all in an effort to raise funds for the Children's Tumor Foundation. As some of you may know, I did this race last year and it was such an amazing experience. Prior to 2012, I had no real connection to Neurofibromatosis, but chose to run because I have been blessed with a beautiful and healthy daughter and I realized that not every father could say that. Instead of considering myself lucky and going on with my life, I decided to help out in whatever small way I could.. and now I am asking for your help again this year.
While this is primarily a fundraiser, it is also a forum to spread awareness about neurofibromatosis, its effects and what research is doing to end this terrible disorder. With your help, we are one small step closer to helping find that cure.
I am not a person who champions numerous causes and asks blindly for donations, so please do not dismiss this request easily. I understand that this economy is in horrible shape and that many of us are trying to find ways to get ahead.. and the last thing we can afford is to give away money to a charity.. BUT.. what if it was your child that suffered from this disorder.. wouldn't you want help, even from strangers, if it meant finding a cure. Wouldn't even a few dollars mean the world to you and your loved ones? That is all I am asking for today, if you can spare it and if you think this is a cause you could support.
With the Holidays fast approaching, maybe this could be the present you give yourself this year.. and turn it into a present that could help thousands of others.
I promise you, I will be out there running, come snow or sleet.. or please even sunshine. Just like last year, I will allow the highest bidder to choose my outfit. As you can see from the picture with Olivia, there wasn't a whole lot to keep me warm.
Thank you to everybody for even considering this great charity and for reading this far.. If you need me, I'll be in the gym trying to get in shape so I don't embarrass myself out there.. and of course, I could always use a running partner or five.

The Children's Tumor Foundation is the world's largest non-government organization dedicated to ending Neurofibromatosis (NF) through research. NF is a genetic disorder, usually manifesting during adolescence, that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, causing blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and severe chronic pain. Currently, there is no cure for NF and there are frighteningly few treatment options.
Last year's run was 19 degrees.. but for such an amazing cause it was completely worthwhile! |
